Why it is important to Register and Vote?

Democracy demands active voter participation by informed citizens to properly work. Voting is an essential privilege granted or withheld at state government discretion. Registering to vote is required by the state in order to exercise your voting privilege. You must also be an Oklahoma resident, and a U.S. citizen. If you register and then you vote, you have a much greater voice in the direction of government.
On the other hand, failing to register to vote means you have NO voice and leads directly to:
You cannot vote.
You lose your political voice and representation..
You lose control of government to special interests.
For all of those reasons and many more, it is vital that you take the first step by registering to vote. If you are not currently registered to vote, take that first step to make your mark this election and register to vote now!
In order to be eligible to vote you must meet the following requirements:
Be at least 18 years old.
Be an Oklahoma resident.
Be a U.S. citizen.
Not be a convicted felony within the time period equal to the original
judgment and sentence, even if you are no longer incarcerated.
Have not been legally determined to be incapacitated.
Have not been legally determined to be partially incapacitated with a prohibition on voting.
